REPORT: “We Want Accountability” activists hold protests outside EDL, Sukleen

“We Want Accountability” activists staged a protest Thursday outside the company premises of Electricite Du Liban in the region of Mar Mikhael, raising the slogan: “one bill instead of two,” in reference to the two electrical bills attributed to electricity provided for by EDL and substitute power produced by independent generators during rationing hours.

The protesters said that they have numerous demands, among which their rejection to pay two electrical bills each month, calling for holding the officials accountable when they fail to pay bills.

Later, the activists moved their protest to outside the Sukleen waste management company, urging the government to find a solution for the waste crisis.
