The eleventh national dialogue session was held on Wednesday at Speaker Nabih Berri's Ain al-Tineh residence, amid the absence of Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun who was represented by MP Ibrahim Kanaan.
Kataeb Party chief MP Sami Gemayel has been boycotting the recent dialogue sessions over the failure of the government to resolve the waste management crisis.
During the session, which was deferred until December 14, Speaker Berri reiterated the need to reactivate the cabinet’s work, referring to Premier Salam’s position which consists in suspending cabinet sessions until a solution for the waste crisis is reached.
On another note, Frangieh confirmed the inaccuracy of what was published in the media last week regarding him being a new presidential candidate in the wake of claims that he had held talks with head of Future Movement MP Saad Hariri.
For his part, Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, MP Talal Arslan said that during the round of talks, the politicians discussed the cabinet file and the electoral law.
