Aleppo’s historical souks lost in fire

Due to the violence taking place in Syria, ancient sites in Aleppo are threatened by destruction.

Aleppo’s famous ancient markets that withstood hundreds of years of wars, invasions and natural factors are being destroyed and burned by the Syrian themselves.

Aleppo’s markets that go back to the fourth century BC when shops were held on both sides of the street from al-Kalaa reaching Bab Antakia are considered one of the most beautiful cities in the Middle East.

This ancient masterpiece, Aleppo, is now famous in the context of destruction. News about fire eruptions in this city has topped all news reports.

It is not the first time that fire erupts in the ancient markets of Aleppo, but this time, residents report that this the biggest fire that broke into the city and calls for extinguishing the fire are not being responded to.

Citizens reported that the only response they are hearing is that the whole city will be burned.
