Introduction to the evening news 13-10-2012

Several events occurred today on the international and local scenes.  

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced that his country will retaliate without hesitation if its border with Syria is violated again.  

For his part, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the United Nations and said that the organization should carry out internal reforms as it is unfair that the five permanent members of the UN Security Council decide the fate of other countries, stressing that the UN is losing its credibility by turning a blind eye to what is happening in Syria.

This as, UN envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi will be visiting Iraq on Monday after his visit to KSA.  

In Lebanon, the newspapers published in the morning that Speaker Nabih Berri doubts that the upcoming elections could be held according to the 60’s law; however the Speaker of the Houses denied the reports at night.  

And as the Free Patriotic Movement held the 13th October commemoration ceremony at Deir el Kalaa Monastery in Beit Meri, March 14 commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Dany Chamoun.

The opponents’ commemoration ceremonies result will be revealed during the upcoming parliamentary elections.
