REPORT: Restaurants' unconsumed leftovers given away to poor people

Thousands of Lebanese poor people wander the streets with empty stomachs looking in the trash cans for a bite to eat, as hotels and restaurants throw tons of leftovers.

According to  UN statistics, 300,000 Lebanese citizens suffer from severe poverty.

For these reasons, "Fern" Association is encouraging restaurants and hotels to give away the leftovers of the buffets to poor people.

Naji  Boustani, the president of the association told LBCI that the association will be working with all the restaurants that have unconsumed food to give it away to those in need instead of throwing it.
