The ministerial Coronavirus Follow-up Committee announced on Monday that a total lockdown will be imposed in the country as of Thursday until February 1.

Following the meeting, Caretaker Minister of Health Hamad Hassan said that "it has become clear that the pandemic challenge has reached a place where it poses a threat to the lives of the Lebanese, in light of the inability of hospitals to secure more beds."

For his Part, Caretaker Minister of Interior Mohammad Fahmi said that the odd/even license plate rule will be implemented again during the lockdown.

Fahmi called on the Lebanese people to abide by the preventive measures and to help the security forces in implementing them.
