REPORT: Sleiman discusses "solution" with PSP delegation

President Michel Sleiman met on Tuesday with a delegation from the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) including Ministers Ghazi Aridi, Wael Abou Faour and Alaa el-Din Terro in addition to the Secretary General of the Party Zafer Naser at the Baadbda Palace.

The Ministers briefed the President on the "rescue" initiative that Deputy Walid Jumblatt is preparing.

In this context, one of the PSP ministers told LBCI that the plan aims at assuring a political consensus that could help the security apparatuses in fulfilling their duties.

Sleiman asked the ministers to ask all Lebanese parties that they will be visiting to respect the following principles: cease of mutual accusations, commitment to the Baabda Decleration, self-distancing from the Syrian crisis and attending National Dialogue sessions.

A PSP delegation will be visiting all the Lebanese parties and leaderships with no exception, and the president will be later informed of the talks’ result who will accordingly call for holding a dialogue session.

Also at the Baabda palace, the President met with MP Sami Gemayel and discussed with him ideas to help the country out of the "crisis".

After the meeting, MP Gemayel said to LBCI that President Sleiman "holds the keys to solving the country's issues."
