Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi has been following-up since the early morning on Saturday on the operations underway to put out the fires that broke out in each of Tyre, Beit Meri, Ibrin and Kaslik.
A large number of regional centers affiliated with the Civil Defense and firefighting teams of the municipal unions are partaking in the aforementioned operations, in addition to a number of helicopters of the Lebanese army and the international peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon.
Minister Mawlawi requested those concerned to quickly extinguish the fires and work to prevent their spread. He gave instructions to prepare temporary artificial ponds for the rafts to use, in coordination with the mayors and the concerned municipalities.
The Minister of Interior also checked up on the health conditions of a number of civil defense personnel, who passed out as a result of the firefighting operations.
