Introduction to the evening news 26-11-2012

Several events are dominating the Lebanese scene.       

The first event is the SCC's strike schedule for tomorrow and the day after and the controversial issue of the commitment of the Catholic and Orthodox schools in the strike with information reporting that teachers at these schools will not attend classes.       

Perhaps by now the Lebanese got used to confusion when it comes to Syndical events.      

The second event is overtaking the Basketball scene as the newly elected union and the 5 boycotting clubs are still clashing through counter statements.       

As a result, the championship was suspended for a week, awaiting the meeting with Youth and Sports Minister on Thursday to come up with a solution for the crisis.        

The 3rd event is the National Dialogue session scheduled next Thursday. It is still unsure if all political parties will agree to participate.     

Separately, the controversial issue of the electoral law for the upcoming parliamentary elections came back to the scene when PM Najib Mikati asked via his twitter account: “how is it possible that the 1960's remain up for discussion 52 years after its ratification?”  

In Egypt, Morsi’s newly issued decree that expanded his powers faced a strong opposition.

In Syria, the violent clashes between the regime forces and the rebels continued.
