REPORT: Rare hyena shot dead in Ferzol

Resident of Zahle's Ferzol Elie Eazan was surprised at the sight of a hyena. He thought at first that it was a large dog.

Terrified, the resident shot the hyena with a rifle causing its immediate death.

The hyena might have left the cold mountain of Sanine covered with snow and headed towards the inhabited regions searching for food.

The residents may have the right to fear any attack by wild animals, but it is worth noting that this species of hyena is very rare and is threatened of extinction.
