Introduction to the evening news 31-12-2012

In a few hours, Lebanon will open a new chapter with the beginning of the New Year. However, division is still dominating the Lebanese scene.

Since 2005, sectarian and political tensions increased and the social situation deteriorated. Several issues were not solved, including the ranks and salaries pay scale, the humanitarian situation of the Palestinians in their camps and the Syrian refugees who fled to Lebanon and are seeking the help of the Lebanese people who fled to Syria back in 2006.

This as, the region is still influenced by the repercussions of the Arab Spring. It seems that a new revolution is rising in Egypt against the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood.

In Syria, the high cost of the revolution caused the death of more than 40,000 people.

Internationally, the world economic crises and austerity plans topped the international agendas.

Despite all odds, we still hope for a brighter future.
