Introduction to the evening news 15-02-2013

The Parliamentary sub-committee continues its meetings without reaching a decisive solution, while the final report is expected to be referred tomorrow to the joint committees.  

Amid this stagnation, a political breach was performed by MP Walid Jumblatt who arrived to Saudi Arabia, where he is set to meet with the Saudi Crown Prince Salman, Foreign Minister Prince Soud al-Faisal and Prince Bandar Bin Abdulaziz.           

The impasse of the sub-committee is not the only one on the list of internal impasses, as the tension between the cabinet and the Syndicate Coordination Committee reached its highest levels. Will the cabinet refer the ranks and salaries pay scale to the Parliament in an attempt to avoid the open ended strike?                     

Another impasse is represented by the issue of Roumieh prison where the word “scandal” does not perfectly describe the situation. In this context, security sources revealed that one Fatah al-Islam detainee walk around in the prison with a gun on his waist, while another Libyan detainee manufactures explosive devices inside the prison.              

Separately, the case of counterfeit medicine witnessed a significant development, as an arrest warrant was issued against the accused Abdul Latif Fneish, the brother of Minister Mohammad Fneish, following today’s investigation session.                  

Regarding the Burgas attack in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Interior Minister revealed that Canada and Australia provided information stating that Hezbollah funded the attack.
