REPORT: Highway project to be implemented in Ashrafieh, sparks controversy

The consulting company, tasked with the Highway project to be implemented in Ashrafieh, said that civil society activists, who denounced the project since" it will eliminate what is left of the old houses and green spaces",  should have taken a closer look at the project's final maps before opposing it.

A new highway is set to be built inside the residential area of Mar Mikhael, connecting Charles Helo avenue leading to the port, with Charles Malek avenue in Ashrafieh.

This report will examine the different standpoints in regards to the said projects as well as the meeting to be held between civil society activists and the consulting company in order to reach a common ground.
