In Colombia's presidential election, a leftist former rebel fighter has won the first round and will face a populist businessman in the second round on June 19.

With 99.9% of ballot boxes counted on Sunday, Gustavo Petro, a 62-year-old former member of the M-19 guerrilla movement, had 40.3 percent of the votes.
