Taliban pledges to defend Afghanistan's independence on 2-year power anniversary

On Tuesday, the Taliban pledged to resist any threat to Afghanistan's independence as they commemorate the second anniversary of assuming power and "reclaiming" the nation.

Authorities stated in a release that "the recapture of Kabul once again proves that no one can control the resilient Afghan nation and ensure its presence in this country," adding that "no occupier will be allowed to jeopardize Afghanistan's independence and freedom."
