Biden grants clemency to five Iranians as part of exchange deal

A senior US official confirmed on Monday the prisoner exchange process with Iran, stating that President Joe Biden, in this context, granted clemency to five Iranians who were convicted or awaiting trial for non-violent crimes.

The official explained that Biden will simultaneously impose new sanctions on the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
