Blinken calls on Chinese counterpart to use Beijing's ‘influence’ to restore calm in Middle East

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken urged his Chinese counterpart, a strong partner of Iran, to use Beijing's influence to help restore calm in the Middle East.

According to the US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, Blinken, who visited Saudi Arabia on Saturday, had a "productive" one-hour phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
