US sanctions seven people in Iraq due to attacks on its forces

On Friday, the United States announced the imposition of sanctions on seven individuals, claiming they have ties to Iran-backed factions in Iraq responsible for recent attacks on its military bases in the region.

American forces stationed in Iraq and Syria have faced over 55 attacks since mid-October, resulting in dozens of US soldiers sustaining minor injuries, according to the Pentagon's announcement on Tuesday.
