Russia and UN may discuss grain and fertilizer exports this month

Russian state media quoted Russia's representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, saying that representatives from Russia and the United Nations may meet this month for another round of talks on facilitating Russian agricultural exports and fertilizers.

Moscow attributes the collapse of last year's Black Sea grain agreement, which allowed grain exports from Ukrainian ports, to a lack of progress in removing obstacles hindering its exports.

Gatilov, representing Russia in United Nations institutions in Geneva, said Moscow is determined to lift sanctions on companies and banks linked to Russian agricultural exports.
