Biden intends to send new weapons to Ukraine starting 'this week'

US President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that the United States "will begin sending weapons and equipment to Ukraine this week," following congressional approval, after a long wait, for a huge aid package to Kyiv.

Biden said in a statement, "I will sign this bill and address the American people as soon as (the text) reaches my desk tomorrow."
