Thai lawmakers to vote on new PM on Friday

Thai lawmakers will meet on Friday to choose a new prime minister, a parliament statement said Wednesday, after a court dismissed incumbent Srettha Thavisin in an ethics case.

The House of Representatives will vote at 10:00 am (0300 GMT) on Friday, with the ruling coalition due to meet to choose its candidate on Thursday.
