4 detained Palestinian Islamists released on 500,000 LBP bail

Investigative Judge looking into the Nahr al Bared case, Ghassan Oueidat, approved on Monday the request to release four detained Palestinian Islamists on a 500,000 LBP bail for each of them.

The detained are: Alaa Moussa, Mohammad Moussa, Said al-Said and Youssef Darwish. Judge Oueidat referred all the documents to the public prosecutor.

The released detainees are expected to be handed over to the General Security given that they are not Lebanese citizens.

This update comes in line to a previous batch of released Islamists detained for involvement with Fatah al-Islam militant group.

The 14 Islamist detainees were either arrested or turned themselves in to security forces in Tripoli on charges of belonging to Fatah al-Islam, and were freed on the 19th of June 2012. They included 11 Lebanese, 2 Palestinian nationals, Mohammad Wehbi and Moussa Ismail, and Syrian Mounjed al-Fahham who tried to escape from prison with Walid al-Yastani, but was re-arrested by the prison's guards.
