US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrived in Lebanon on Thursday morning, and headed to Baabda presidential palace where he held talks with President Michel Aoun, in the presence of Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and Director General of General Security Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim and a number of advisors.
Tillerson was accompanied by US Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Satterfield, Us Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard and a delegation.
Following the extended discussions, a bilateral meeting was held between Tillerson and Bassil.
At the end of the meeting, the US official wrote a note in the presidential palace guest book before leaving.
