Geagea: We reject an idea or step for keeping Syrian displaced in Lebanon

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea asserted on Tuesday that “Lebanon is not a country without a people,” voicing rejection to any idea, discussion or step for keeping the Syrian displaced in Lebanon, even temporary.

“We welcomed the Syrian refugees because of their misery in Syria, however this does not mean that we are tolerant regarding our national sovereignty or the right of our own people to our land and our natural resources,” he added.

Geagea stressed that the first mission of the next government will be drawing a clear plan for the Syrian refugees’ return to all Syrian territories that are now outside the armed conflict.
