Labor Minister Bayram: Ration card amendments might be approved
The Minister of Labor Moustafa Bayram pointed out on Saturday that “the Index Committee will hold a meeting next Wednesday,” adding that "the Prime Minister requested during the Ministerial Committee meeting last week the adoption of a minimum wage for the private sector.”

Bayram’s comments were made during an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station during which he noted that “latest discussion tackled transportation allowance, social assistance to public sector, education sector, public hospitals, institutions and public administrations, in order to alleviate the impact of the crisis,” stressing that “he is striving to provide job opportunities by adjusting the ratio of Lebanese workers to foreigners in all sectors.

Regarding the ration card, Bayram mentioned that “the Minister of Social Affairs has submitted amendments that may be approved in the next parliamentary session.”

He also indicated that he is working with the National Social Security Fund to cover each Lebanese as they should all be, underlining that “it is unacceptable to harm military retirees' compensations and the country's social security.”
