UCC’s one million signatures petition reaches Education ministry

The one million signatures petition campaign launched by the Union Coordinating Committee reached on Wednesday the Ministry of Education.

The petition was signed by a number of the ministry’s personnel as well as citizens who were present for business at the location.

The petition, which aims at urging the government to adopt the series of ranks and salaries, was launched by the UCC on the 17th of July.

The Union Coordinating Committee alongside the private and public schools association had sparked an open ended strike on February 19th, 2013 after making repeated called on Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.

Cabinet referred the wage scale on Thursday 21st of March, 2013.
