Mikati to speak about his resignation for the first time during Kalamennas

Al-Liwaa daily quoted on Thursday well-informed sources from the Grand Serail as saying that PM Najib Mikati will discuss his resignation for the first time with presenter Marcel Ghanem, during his Thursday appearance on Kalamennas talk show.

The sources said that this decision [resignation] is still under consideration.

The sources added that the decision to resign might be taken should the cabinet fail to approve the funding of the STL during a cabinet session to be held on November 30.

According to the sources, the cabinet resignation will mark the beginning of a difficult phase of caretaker governance that could extend until the 2013 legislative elections.
