Al-Rayyess to LBCI: Ibrahim Bashir’s case marks the beginning of the fight against corruption

The Progressive Socialist Party media official Rami al-Rayess stressed Tuesday that “some parties are 'killing' any political initiative in the country,” hoping that the case of Ibrahim Bashir will be the beginning of the fight against corruption.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, al-Rayess stressed that the stance of the PSP aims at helping in reaching a solution for the current crises, noting that there are three main issues dividing the Lebanese people, the Syrian crisis, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the issue of Hezbollah’s arms.

On Monday November 11, the head of the Higher Relief Council (HRC) Ibrahim Bashir was referred to the Criminal Investigation Department, for interrogation over the case of money smuggling after he was questioned at the General Prosecution.
