Bekaa grape growers hit picket line to get paid for their vine

Bekaa grape growers staged a protest on Sunday, blocking the Shtoura international road for 15 minutes.

The protesters called on the cabinet, represented by Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan, to live up to their promises to compensate for the damages sustained by their crops last year through the Higher Relief Committee.

Hajj Hassan confirmed the legitimacy of the protest and voiced demands, promising a new plan on means to cope with the agricultural losses to be disclosed in the new year.
