Future bloc underscores need to end Tripoli's battles

The Future bloc stressed on Tuesday that the battles in Lebanon's northern city of Tripoli are rejected by its residents, stressing the need to end them immediately and to prevent other rounds of violence from taking place.

Following its weekly meeting, the bloc urged the swift finalization of legal procedures against the involved in Tripoli's twin blasts, calling on the Lebanese army to fulfill its duties "in a firm and fair way".

The Future bloc also called on the Lebanese parties to abide by the peaceful rotation of power and to the Baabda Declaration, noting that the Lebanese Armed Forces should end the fighting in Tripoli after imposing the security plan.

Separately, the bloc voiced its regret to the rising number of Hezbollah fighters killed in Syria, calling on the families to reject the group's involvement in the Syrian crisis.
