Syria to adopt Russian language in educational curriculum

The Syrian Ministry of Education said on Monday that it has decided to adopt the Russian language in the educational curriculum as of the upcoming year, giving students the chance to choose between the Russian and the French language starting from the seventh grade.      

It is worth noting that Syrian schools teach English as well as Arabic, the official language in the country, starting the first grade. As for French and other languages students start learning them starts as of the seventh grade.
