Minister Bou Saab says all forms of school violence are forbidden

Education Minister Elias Bou Saab stressed on Wednesday that all forms of beatings and violence are forbidden at schools and said: "We will exert efforts to put an end to this phenomenon".

A video of a school headmaster assaulting students at a school in southern Lebanon went viral on social media websites on Tuesday.

The Minister added that he will task the Central Inspection Bureau with following up on violence at schools throughout the country.

Bou Saab also said any beating incident should be reported to the Education General Directorate on the hotline: 01 772 101 or by directly contacting his office.
