Interior Minister says annulment of security documents protects Lebanon's military

Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq said on Friday that the decision to annul security documents shared by various apparatuses protects Lebanon's military.

"This decision proves that Lebanon enjoys a certain kind of freedom but also eases tension in several regions in the country," Mashnouq said in a press conference held at the Interior Ministry.

Freedom is the only way to protect Lebanon, he said, noting that the country's political power has full confidence in the cabinet.

Asked about the possible entry of car bombs into the Lebanese territories, Mashnouq said there were no new reports in this regard.

"The publication of relevant documents affects the security situation and only leads to raising concern," the minister added.
