Mufti Qabbani: Our stance is constant and unchangeable

The national and Islamic stance is constant and unchangeable, the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani said in his speech on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

“We will not compromise on the final Lebanese entity and unity”, Qabbani said, highlighting the need to build a just and powerful state.

Mufti Qabbani also ruled out compromises on the Ta'if accord which laid the foundations of a strong Lebanese state.

“Lebanon will not go back to a time of conflict, strife and war”, Qabbani added.

In his speech, Qabbani refused to waiver on Lebanon’s commitments to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) and the anti-Israeli stances.

“Israel is using resettlement as an excuse to deprive the Palestinians from the right to return, that is why we will never accept it under any pretexts”, Qabbani added.
