Connelly: US committed to a “stable, sovereign and independent Lebanon”

U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly reconfirmed on Wednesday that the U.S. welcomes the initiative of Lebanese President Michel Sleiman in re-launching national dialogue as part of efforts to boost national unity and stability, according to a U.S. embassy statement.

The U.S. embassy added that Connelly, who met with Sleiman on Wednesday in Baabda, confirmed her country’s commitment to “a stable, sovereign and independent Lebanon”.
