Layyoun inspects Roman hippodrome, refutes allegations

Culture Minister Gaby Layyoun inspected Beirut’s Roman hippodrome on Thursday, refuting allegations that archeological remains are being removed from this historical site.

Layyoun pointed out that the team working for the Ministry of Culture's Directorate General of Antiquities and National Heritage is only removing weeds and rubble from the site paving the way for a comprehensive land survey, including a 3D survey, as previously announced by the directorate.
