Ogassapian to LBCI: Samaha’s arrest targets Hezbollah

Future Bloc MP Jean Ogassapian said on Tuesday via Nharkom Said on LBCI that the evidence against Former Miniter Michel Samaha outweighs the prospects of his innocence, adding that Hezbollah and other allies are now in a state of "shock and awe".

“Samaha’s arrest directly targets Hezbollah, in its core, since it believes that it is the sole entity overseeing security, strategy and politics in the country”, he added.

Hezbollah has no interest in inciting strife with the Sunni’s in Lebanon or the area, he said, adding that the party’s main focus now lies on reevaluating its stances in light of events overtaking the region.

“The fall of the current Lebanese government will bring an end to Hezbollah’s governmental structure” he added.

In his concluding remarks Ogassapian called for the cancellation of the Higher Lebanese-Syrian Security council, which according to him holds more authority than that of Lebanese Constitutional Institutions.
