Jumblatt warns against plot to drag Syrian Druze into confrontation with revolution

"National Struggle" Head Walid Jumblatt warned against a clear plot by the Syrian regime to drag Syrian Druze, after arming them, into a confrontation with the revolution or with other sects.               

Deputy Jumblatt's words came in his weekly stance every Monday to Al-Anbaa newspaper, issued by Progressive Socialist Party.               

"This [the plot] falls in the interest of the Syrian regime and its efforts to ignite internal strife to lessen the pressure of the revolution and its progress at all levels," Jumblatt said.              

Jumblatt called on every “honest man” and nationalist to be cautious of falling into this “trap”, saying this scheme is concocted by the Syrian regime in collaboration with some Druze circles known for their short sightedness and some notables of Jabal al-Arab.               

Jumblatt underlined that the awareness of the Syrian people who have made tremendous sacrifices and efforts in cooperation with the Free Syrian Army shall achieve victory in the end, saying such awareness shall guarantee to foil all suspicious plots by the Syrian regime and its proxies.           

"This revolution shall not and cannot draw back no matter what," Jumblatt concluded.
