Heavy rains and clogged drains: downpour brings highway chaos

Drivers across Lebanon are experiencing severe delays and fender-benders in massive traffic jams due to heavy rains.

Flash flooding in some areas has created veritable tank traps, stalling unsuspecting motorists who were unable to properly gauge the water levels.

The lack of proper infrastructure and drainage systems across Lebanon, aggravated by rampant littering, has made what could have been an enjoyable end-of-summer rain into a flooded flop on the highway.
