Interior Minister al-Mawlawi: Security situation acceptable but not excellent

Minister of Interior Bassam al-Mawlawi said on Saturday that safety and security of the Lebanese citizens are the top duties of the newly formed government.

Al-Mawlawi’s comments were made after meeting with Mufti Abdel Latif Derian at the Dar al-Fatwa.

The minister also stressed that he will spare no mean to improve the situation of the soldiers logistically, financially, morally and socially.

On another note, the minister dubbed the security situation as acceptable and satisfactory but not excellent.

“I follow up on the security reports, moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day,” he added.
