Head of the bakery owners syndicate vows escalation

Head of the bakery owners' syndicate of North Lebanon Tarek el-Mir vowed on Saturday escalation if the situation remained the same.

"There is a severe shortage of flour type 85 due to electricity rationing and non-use of diesel fuel, as well as the failure of the Economy Minister to give mills their rights, which caused scarcity in the production of bread in so many bakeries in the north," he pointed out during a meeting at the union in Tripoli.

In this regard, Economy Minister urged "finding a solution as to facilitating mill affairs and delivering the ovens the quantities ordered by the Economy Ministry," warning against a "return of bread crisis."
