LAF: First sergeant killed while pursuing a suspect in Jounieh

Army Command, the Orientation Directorate, issued a statement on Sunday announcing that while an Army Intelligence unite was pursuing suspect Hassan Ahmad Gharib, accused of committing several criminal acts, the latter fired at the unite, killing First Sergeant Samson Antranikian.

The statement added that the soldiers fired back at Gharib who was wounded and later transferred to a nearby hospital.

Investigations were immediately launched.
