President Aoun receives phone call from Hochstein

President Michel Aoun received on Sunday afternoon a phone call from US mediator Amos Hochstein, in which he briefed him on the results of the recent rounds of contacts with the Lebanese side on one hand, and the Israeli side on the other, during which the observations submitted by the two sides were examined.

Hochstein explained that the rounds of discussions were concluded and the notes that he will be sending during the coming will include the final version of the proposal related to the demarcation of the southern maritime border.

Hochstein thanked President Aoun and his team for their wise handling of the negotiation file and the way in which the discussion points were handled, which made it possible for the negotiations to be concluded over the previous days.

This as the Lebanese side will study the final version carefully before making the appropriate decision.

Prior to Hochstein's call, President Aoun met with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Elias Bou Saab, who briefed about the discussions that took place over the past three days between him and the US mediator.
