ISF reports no security incidents on New Year's Eve

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced that maintaining security and order on various Lebanese territories on New Year's Eve ended with success, as no security incident and no traffic accident death were recorded.

 
However, the ISF revealed that celebratory gunfire injured three people with light injuries in Burj Abi Haidar in Beirut and the localities of Dam, Farz, and Zahrieh in Tripoli. In addition to, two aircraft were damaged while on the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport runways.
 
After strict orders were given to the operational units of the Internal Security Forces to intensify their investigations to uncover the identity of the shooters, 116 suspects have been identified, and work is underway to arrest them in coordination with the competent judiciary. 
 
On this occasion, the Internal Security Forces chief, Major General Imad Othman, congratulated the people involved in implementing the security measures for "the efforts they made and the field measures they took, especially on the roads, to facilitate the affairs of citizens, ensure their comfort and maintain traffic safety."
