Lebanese Foreign Ministry: FM Araghchi’s recent statements rejected as violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the recent statements made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, which addressed internal Lebanese issues, do not represent the Islamic Republic in any way.

The ministry condemned these remarks as unacceptable, considering them an infringement on Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and stability, and an interference in its internal affairs and sovereign decisions.

In a statement, the ministry said, “Relations between countries can only be built on the basis of mutual respect, equality, non-interference in internal affairs, and full adherence to the decisions of legitimate constitutional institutions.”

It emphasized that it is completely unacceptable to use these relations to encourage or support internal parties outside the framework of the Lebanese state and its institutions, and at their expense.
