Ferzli: The Constitutional Council is not legally represented

Former Deputy Speaker Elie Ferzli said on Tuesday that there is no legal representation to the current Constitutional Council since its members have breached articles 2 and 7 of the council’s by-laws which stipulate a mandate of 6 non-renewable years.

During a press conference held at the headquarters of the Orthodox Gathering in Ashrafieh, Ferzli criticized the silence of deputies and ministers pointing out that “there is a covert deal among them regarding the Constitutional Council”.

In this regard, Ferzli called on President Michel Sleiman to take serious measures regarding what he described as “a significant mockery”.
