Israeli army says interceptor missile launched toward surface-to-air missile fired from southern Lebanon

Israeli army spokesperson Ella Waweya said that interceptor missiles were launched after alerts sounded in the Neve Yam area following the detection of a surface-to-air missile fired toward an Israeli Air Force aircraft operating in southern Lebanon.

In a post on X, Waweya said the aircraft was operating in an area where Israeli forces are active, adding that the interception attempt triggered sirens warning of rocket and missile fire.

She noted that no injuries or damage were reported among Israeli forces.
