China urges compromise on Iran tensions, calls for continued de-escalation

Wang Yi said Tuesday that China hopes all parties involved in the Iran-related conflict will work toward a ceasefire and continue efforts to narrow differences and reach compromise solutions.

Speaking to reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Wang said he chaired a meeting of the 15-member U.N. Security Council as part of China’s presidency of the council for May.
