REPORT: Lattakia courts summons MP Jumbatt, journalist Khashan
Minister of Justice Ashraf Rifi confirmed Thursday that the Justice Ministry had received two legal notices against MP Walid Jumblatt and journalist Fares Khashan on charges of undermining Syria's state authority.

The legal documents were delivered to the Lebanese Foreign Ministry via the Syrian embassy in Lebanon, prior to the referral to the Justice Ministry, he told LBCI.

"The Syrian regime had issued an all-inclusive amnesty in 2013, and this should also cover all indictments against Jumblatt or Khashan...We will revoke these legal documents," he noted.

For its part, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry denied having received through the Syrian embassy copies of legal notices issued by a Lattakia court against Jumblatt and Khashan.
