REPORT: Contract instructors at vocational and technical schools to supervise official exams
Contractual instructors at vocational and technical schools stated on Monday that they will participate in the supervision of official exams.

In this regard, instructors mentioned that their main concern is the benefit of students, stressing that their decision is not against the demands of the Union Coordinating Committee.

The instructors also called on parliament to pass the pay scale during Tuesday's session, calling on Education Minister Elias Bou Saab to treat them in a just and fair manner.

Education Minister Elias Bou Saab said that Lebanon's official exams will be held on Thursday even if the parliament fails to pass the wage scale during Tuesday's session.

Meanwhile, Hanna Gharib, a member of the UCC
stressed that the committee is unified and will boycott Lebanon's official exams until the approval of the wage scale, asking teachers to vote for boycotting the official exams.

The Union Coordinating Committee has been on a continuous sit-in calling on the authorities to pass the pay scale, which stipulates a wage hike.

The decision to revive movements came as a result of the failure of the Joint Parliamentary Committees to resolve the dispute on the Value Added Tax in a proposal aimed at securing the funds for the salary scale that was approved by former Prime Minister Najib Mikati's cabinet.
